🥂FRI-YEAH - you'll check in when happy hour begins so arrange to have a charcuterie board from Down the Shore Cheeseboards in the fridge as soon as you arrive. Then call Royal Wine & Spirits in Atlantic Highlands to have them deliver a few bottles of bubbles. You can also have Instacart deliver groceries. 🍽️ Dinner - Grab a few bottles and walk to one of Highland’s delectable BYOBs -there are several within a few blocks - try Porcini right around the for excellent Italian.
☕️SATURDAY Enjoy a peaceful coffee in our sunny backyard patio then plan on biking on the Henry Hudson Trail which starts at the end of our road and runs alongside Sandy Hook Bay north towards Atlantic Highlands. Stop at Sissy's on the Harbor for brunch in their cheery cafe full of cheeky signs and fun sayings. If it's after 2pm, hit up On the Deck next door instead. You'll love the food and the views at both of these spots. If you prefer to drive, or if the weather is bad, there's plenty of parking around the Atlantic Highlands Marina. If the weather is bad, check Smodcastle Cinema schedule to see what shows are on schedule. If there's time in the afternoon, walk to Miller Beach just down the street for a quick dose of Sandy Hook Bay and a little extra exercise.
☀️🍸🍣 Head out to Sea Bright for Happy Hour at the Tiki BAR at the Beach Walk Motel which is on the way to one of our favorite places for dinner, the Beach Tavern in Monmouth Beach. You'll be treated to gorgeous views of the marina while enjoying an excellent dinner and festive Saturday vibes.
🍹😎 SUNDAY FUNDAY take your coffees to go and hop in the car for the short 5 min drive to Sandy Hook Gateway National Park - Park in Lot B or C and head ocean side for a gorgeous beach walk.🛍️ Check for fun events going on at White Chapel Projects 20 min away in Long Branch, or hit up nearby Red Bank for antique shopping. 🍽️🍹Make a dinner rez at one Highlands’ fabulous waterfront restaurants - One Willow is always a lovely special occasion spot OR if you've some serious chef skills, make an intimate dinner in the Beach Lodge’s well stocked kitchen.
MONDAY morning walk along Shrewsbury over to the Highlands - Seabright Bridge and stop at one of the parks on the Highlands side for some great photos. On your way home, get a good breakfast at the Atlantic Diner on First Avenue in Atlantic Highlands just 10 minutes away or Kings Arms Diner further along Rt 36.
