- Sandy Hook ocean beaches just over the bridge 5-15 min. Miles of ocean & bay shoreline
2) What outdoor parks and trails are nearby?
- Hartshorne Woods: rugged coastal woods with cliffside views, multiple hiking loops, and picnic spots — excellent for short hikes and nature watching ~5 min drive.
- Henry Hudson Trail: paved rail-trail nearby for biking, walking
3) How close is the ferry to NYC? Seastreak ferry is less than 1 mile down the street

5) Where can I shop or grab essentials? Highlands town center has boutiques, cafes, and small markets a few minutes away. Larger grocery stores and specialty shops are an short drive to nearby towns.

7) When should I visit? Late spring through early fall for best beach and waterfront restaurant conditions. Shoulder seasons (October - April ) offer quieter crowds, less expensive rates & more flexibility!
8) Local tips iSeptember is known as 'locals summer' at the Bayshore when it's still beach weather, but everything is easier to access. A perfect time for a group of friends without kids.

By bike: we offer 5 + kids bike and have ample garage space if you want to BYOBike
By car. There are four parking spaces in our driveway and free street parking all around town.
Uber services the area.
Seastreak Ferry - 1 Mile down the road. Not only has daily service to/from NYC but the ferry does special round trips to Mets Games, Martha's Vineyard, and they host cool events. Free parking $10 overnight parking. Plus several places to lock your bike.
